The Why

I had numerous reasons for creating new Journey models, but there were two events that were very specific catalysts that pushed me towards building these genderless models:

The first was this exchange on one of my Hero's / Heroine's Journey videos on YouTube ( link to video and comments section https://youtu.be/74xwgjMW0l0 ):

VIEWER

Hey!

I would just like to clear my doubt regarding have the authors of hero's and heroine's journey said that the story goes for both gender?

I have always heard that the hero's journey is written for only boys same goes the other way. I would like if you can make me know whether the author said it ? Or did joseph Campbell wrote hero's journey for men and Maureen Murdock wrote heroines journey for women.

I address these questions in many of my videos, but before I answer, I want you to consider something:

If gender matters as to which Journey one takes, what does a transgender or non-binary or androgyne or intersexed person do?

Masculine/Feminine are archetypes/energy NOT gender.

VIEWER

@thinkspiritual Hey, you can recommend any one of your video where you have addressed that?

I confess to having a difficult time understanding why this is so important to you, but here are your answers:

Verbatim quote from the Introduction in Maureen Murdoch's "The Heroine's Journey" (I do not use nor teach her model):

"The model I am presenting does not necessarily fit the experience of all women of all ages, and I have found that neither is it limited only to women."

Verbatim quote from Joseph Campbell in "Pathways to Bliss":

"Yes, a woman can follow the hero journey, but there are other calls and there is another relationship asked of you, I would say, to the nature field of which you are the manifestation."

(no further reply from the viewer)

This exchange really bothered me. Were people so hung up on the gender aspect of the Journeys that they couldn't even decide for themselves which one they aligned with? If the author had said, "No, the Journey is only for one gender!" would you just throw up your hands and say, "Whelp, I guess this isn't for me!"

Who the fuck can tell you what's for you and what's not for you except for you???

Not to mention the fact that Joseph Campbell and Maureen Murdoch did not invent the Hero's and Heroine's Journeys. The Journeys have always existed. They are Mythology. Campbell and Murdoch merely recognized patterns.

I did the same thing when I created my Heroine's Journey model. I did so because Murdoch's model does not complement Campbell's model, it is not a pairing to Campbell's model. In my very harsh opinion, it is not even a Heroine's Journey, it is simply the Hero's Journey with the goalposts moved.

But I digress.

The second event was the nail in the coffin for my work with the Hero's and Heroine's Journeys:

I was working on a Journey Tracker - a click-through, animated PowerPoint where people could choose, step-by-step, their "progress" through life and figure out where they were on their personal journey.

And the gender issue kept roadblocking my progress on the project. Everytime I'd come to a shift in the Journey or a "she" or a "he" I felt like I had to reiterate again that "your gender doesn't matter, get past the label, focus on path".

I was stuck because society is fucking stuck on labels.

I'm not stuck on labels. I'm a biological male, I'm straight, but you can call me a princess, call me a Queen, call me "she", call me whatever you want. I'll take the label of "Heroine" with pride because I am Goddess incarnate and I don't give a damn about labels. I am not ONE thing, I am many: masculine/feminine, hero/heroine, god/goddess, king/queen.

What other choice was there? Removing gender from the Journeys was the only logical path forward. In every video I stated that gender doesn't matter, I had tried explaining, I had tried reasoning, I had tried proof from the "creators", nothing else was working and it was forcing me to go in circles. This work is much more for my own growth and progress than for anyone else.

So, with a little adjustment and some collaboration with Gemini (Google's AI - more about this process below) in naming the processes, stages, and steps, the Hero's and Heroine's Journeys have become the Soul Diver's and World Weaver's Journeys.

Are these models merely revised Hero's and Heroine's Journey models? Yes, they absolutely are, I will not deny it. I did not invent these (well, actually, I did create one of these from scratch).

The point is, with gender removed, these Journeys are now applicable across the spectrum and I no longer have to prempt everything I say with "your gender doesn't matter".

The How

The process of creating new Journey models was conceived of late 2019. By April 2020 I had the very rough layout of a completely original Heroine's Journey model drawn up. This model was further refined and revealed to the "world" via YouTube in September 2020. I say "world" because as of 2025 my Heroine's Journey video and work in general has fewer than 6,000 total views. The Heroine's Journey simply does not draw the crowd tha the Hero's Journey does.

Not that I believe this work on the World Weaver and Soul Diver is going to bring people in droves. Self-help is an extremely popular topic, but without a "method" attached to it, people get deluded really damn fast.

"What? You mean I actually have to do the work myself, not follow a formula? Fuck this, I'm outta here!"

Once again, I digress.

While my process to make a Journey model is an extremely creative event, it's not a laborious task and it doesn't take that long to do. You could create your own Journey model for you life very easily. Consider the significant events and milestones and give them creative names - that alone would give you a strong foundation to build around.

The fact is, creating a Journey model mostly is about creating the names for the steps and I believe my past of extensive reading of fiction truly aided me in this process.

In my mind I can already see what happens during a specific phase or step, I just need a creative name that expresses that vision. Gemini (Google's AI) was immensely helpful for me here. Instead of me taking hours to think of words and then using a thesaurus to cross-check them, Gemini was able to give me lists of suggestions in moments and then it was a matter of sorting and combining words or phrases.

This collaboration with Gemini made my many whimsical changes a much less tedious process. For instance, "The Witch's Forge" was originally titled "In the Womb of the World". While this title was accurate, it didn't express the various possibilities of that step. "Womb" suggested a gestation period and that's it - the title wasn't broad enough.

I couldn't think of a title, so I told Gemini the tale of Sir Perceval being trained to be the greatest knight ever by witches. I told Gemini how Perceval was trained in the ways of Darkness, but he was never taken over by Darkness. No matter how hard they tried, the witches couldn't corrupt him.

Unfortunately, my conversations with Gemini seem to have disappeared into the digital wasteland, but the result was that Gemini provided with a list of 8 or 10 titles/phrases that expressed this idea of being trained by witches and "The Witch's Forge" was one of them. It seemed perfect, so I put it in the model and there it is to this day.

Possibly more on the creation to come in the future...who knows?
